No IP address ever leaves your infrastructure

With IP database downloads, you run lookups entirely on your own servers. No external API calls, best possible performance and no privacy concerns.

Data stays on-premise

IP addresses never leave your network. All lookups happen locally on your infrastructure, making database downloads ideal for healthcare, finance, government, and any environment where data residency matters.

On-Premise Air-Gapped Data Residency

Zero latency lookups

Local database queries complete in microseconds. No network round-trips, no cold starts, no variability. Consistent performance at any scale with zero external dependencies.

Sub-Millisecond No Network Calls Consistent

Unlimited volume

Process billions of lookups per day with no per-request costs. Scale your usage without worrying about overage charges, rate limits, or throttling.

FAQ

What formats are the IP database downloads available in?

All IP Trust database packages are available in four formats: MMDB, CSV, JSON, and Parquet. MMDB is optimised for fast IP lookups in production systems, CSV and JSON are ideal for data analysis and import workflows, and Parquet suits large-scale data pipelines. You receive all formats with every IP database subscription.

How often is the IP database updated?

IP Trust databases are updated regularly to reflect changes in IP allocations, network ownership, and threat intelligence. Updates are delivered automatically and included in your subscription at no extra cost, ensuring your local IP data stays accurate and current.

What IP data is included in the database downloads?

IP Trust offers four database packages covering different categories of IP data: Geolocation (city, coordinates, timezone, country metadata), ASN & Abuse Contacts (network ownership, classification, risk scoring, abuse reporting), Hosting & Company (infrastructure provider detection, organisation identification), and Anonymisation (VPN, proxy, Tor, and privacy relay detection). Each package contains one or more database files.

Can I use the IP database on-premise or in air-gapped environments?

Yes. IP database downloads are designed for exactly this use case. Once downloaded, all lookups happen locally on your infrastructure with zero external calls. This makes IP Trust databases ideal for on-premise deployments, air-gapped networks, and environments with strict data residency requirements.

What is the difference between the IP database and the IP API?

The IP API delivers IP data via real-time HTTP requests - you query an IP address and receive a JSON response instantly. The IP database is a downloadable file you host and query locally. The API is simpler to integrate and always up to date, while the database offers zero latency, unlimited volume, and maximum privacy since no data leaves your infrastructure. IP Trust offers both options - see our IP API page for more details.
