Identify the network behind any IP address. Get the Autonomous System Number, organisation name, routing prefix, registry, and risk classification.
IP Trust maps any IP to its ASN, returning the AS number, registered name, owning organisation, BGP route prefix, RIR, network classification, and risk scoring powered by Friendly Captcha.

Understand the network behind every IP address. Identify hosting providers, classify traffic sources, and detect high-risk autonomous systems.
Identify traffic originating from data centres, hosting providers, and high-risk networks. Flag or challenge requests from ASNs with elevated risk scores to protect your platform from automated abuse.
Distinguish between ISP, hosting, business, government, and education networks. Tailor your security rules and access policies based on the type of network a request originates from.
Enrich your analytics with network-level metadata. Understand which ISPs and organisations are driving traffic to your platform, and identify patterns across autonomous systems.
As part of Friendly Captcha, the IP Trust ASN database has been helping to protect the internet from bots since 2020.
We collect ASN data directly from all five Regional Internet Registries (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRINIC) and live BGP routing tables. We own our entire database outright and never resell data from other providers.
Every AS is classified by type (ISP, hosting, business, government, education) and scored for risk based on real-world threat signals observed by Friendly Captcha across billions of requests.
Complete coverage of all allocated ASNs worldwide. Our ASN data is updated daily to reflect the latest BGP routing changes, new AS registrations, and ownership transfers.
Choose the integration model that works best for your use case.

IP to ASN is the process of mapping an IP address to its Autonomous System Number - the unique identifier assigned to a network on the internet. An ASN tells you which organisation owns and operates the network behind any given IP address, whether it's an ISP, a cloud provider, a business, or a government entity.
Each IP to ASN lookup returns the AS number, registered name, owning organisation, country of registration, BGP route prefix, and Regional Internet Registry (RIR). Higher-tier plans also include network classification (ISP, hosting, business, government, education), a human-readable description, and a risk score based on real-world threat signals observed by Friendly Captcha.
Yes. The IP Trust ASN database is available for download as part of the ASN & Abuse Contacts package. It includes all ASN fields in MMDB, CSV, JSON, and Parquet formats. The ASN database is updated daily and allows you to perform IP to ASN lookups locally with zero external calls. See our database downloads page for details.
The ASN risk score ranges from 0.0 (very low) to 1.0 (very high) and is based on real-world threat signals observed by Friendly Captcha across billions of requests. Risk types include confirmed bots, suspected bots, abnormal traffic volume, repeated abuse, and targeted abuse. The score is only provided when enough traffic has been observed to make a reliable determination.
Yes. IP Trust provides full IP to ASN mapping for both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. The ASN database covers all allocated autonomous systems from all five Regional Internet Registries (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRINIC) with daily updates.
